Monteiro Electro Fabril, Lda (MEF), a 100% Portuguese company founded in 1955, which produces Junex brand professional equipment for the HORECA channel and is a leader in this segment, has taken a step forward by installing a 239.6 kWp photovoltaic plant at its manufacturing facilities in Queluz de Baixo, in the municipality of Oeiras:
- Environmental impact: it becomes Carbon-Positive, generating 722% more energy than it consumes and avoiding 89 tonnes of CO2 equivalent;
- Energy independence: 79% of the energy consumed now comes from the photovoltaic solar plant.
- Social responsibility: through this project Monteiro Electro Fabril will support around 217 families who will benefit from a community social tariff.
We would like to take this opportunity to highlight the most recent development and manufacture at this production unit; a range of electric cookers with glass-ceramic hobs.

A very versatile range that can be installed on a worktop or on a neutral base with or without doors, as well as the possibility of recessing the ceramic hob in a personalised environment.
Work surface construction and neutral bases stamped in stainless steel. Easy front access to all controls. Independent temperature control per plate and light signalling for monitoring operation. Glass-ceramic hobs built into the work surface for improved user performance.
The glass-ceramic hobs that incorporate Junex products are of Italian design and have been manufactured in compliance with the various European Directives applicable to electrical appliances in contact with food, giving the products a guarantee of safety in use and reliability for many years to come.
